This past weekend, I had the honor of capturing the breathtaking wedding of Jenna and Gavin, which took place right outside of our state capital. Despite the 95-degree heat, the mountain top provided just the right breeze and some stunning scenic views, making it all worth the effort. The wedding was held at the almost 100-acre ranch/farm property of Jenna’s sister, AKA Kiln, and it was the first wedding to be hosted there—a truly special location for a beautiful day.
Getting to the venue was an adventure in itself—up a one-way road so steep that I thought we might not make it, but we did (with some nervous laughs along the way)! This wedding was even more meaningful as it was a referral from one of our past brides, Aymee, who insisted, “You absolutely need Stephy as your photographer,” and I’m so glad she did. It was a joy to reconnect with Aymee and Ryan and meet the new bride, Jenna, along with their new tiny humans and adorable new pup.
The ceremony took place at a custom-built deck overlooking the breathtaking mountain, offering the perfect spot for their traditional Shinto Ceremony, complete with the sake ritual. Jenna and Gavin both looked stunning in traditional kimonos and robes, exchanging vows in front of their closest 40 friends and family. And let me not forget—there were about 10 black pups there, too (yes, all black! My dream wedding, honestly). The Bridal Party were naturally some of the pups including theirs Mikka (she was so cute walking towards their mommy and daddy).
After the ceremony, we were treated to a reception under the stars in a gorgeous olive grove just steps from the home—such a magical setting to end the night. A wedding full of love, adventure, and memories I won’t soon forget!
