There’s something so special about traditions — especially the ones that grow with the people who make them. This year’s annual photoshoot with the Viratas’ felt like a full-circle moment. I met up at Andrew and Mike’s old college stomping grounds, a place filled with memories and laughter from years past.
We decided to recreate moments from a photoshoot they’d done when Emma was just a little wee — back when she was much shorter and full of that same playful spark. Fast forward to now, and she’s taller than me! (Yes, a child. I’ve accepted it.)
But the best part of this year’s shoot? As Emma proudly declared, she brought her “plus one” — their sweet pup, Horchata! Who by the way, is a model in her own right! We didn’t need treats most of the time, she just was camera ready! Watching Emma dote on Horchata while keeping her Daddies on their toes was pure joy. She’s full of personality, quick wit, and a boundless energy that made for the most genuine, laughter-filled moments.
This annual tradition with the Viratas never fails to remind me why I love what I do — capturing love, growth, and the beautiful chaos of family through every stage of life.
