I first met Amy and Travis back when they were newly engaged, and then had the honor of photographing their wedding in 2010—one of those days you never forget, with the sweetest couple and the kind of love that just sticks with you. Not long after, they packed up and headed to Iowa (Amy’s hometown!) and started their next chapter… which now includes three humans—all boys! One who isn’t even a teenager yet and is taller than me.
When Amy they told me they were coming back to San Diego to visit and needed to book a session, I was beyond excited. And honestly, not surprised—because that’s just who they are. Thoughtful, loyal, and just plain sweet.
We met up at OB Pier, soaked in that perfect coastal light, and let the boys be exactly who they are—wild, funny, full of energy. It was one of those sessions that felt more like hanging out than “working,” with laughter, sandy feet, and even a car nearby bumping what we decided was their official “welcome back” soundtrack.
Mitchell family, it meant the world to see you again and capture this season of your life. Same love story, just a little louder (and a lot more fun).
