There’s something magic about the way the Pacific decides to show off right when you need it to.
For Chai and Addie’s maternity session — celebrating baby #2 on the way — we headed to Windansea Beach in La Jolla. What we didn’t plan for was the ocean deciding to perform: massive 20-foot waves crashing against the rocks, mist hanging in the air, wind pulling at Chai’s gorgeous red dress as she cradled her belly. Fitting, honestly — there’s something about the ocean’s power that mirrors exactly what a body does to grow a whole new human.
Then, right on cue, the sky joined in. As the sun dipped low, La Jolla lit up in gold, coral, and violet, waves catching the light mid-crash. Golden hour + storm surf + a soon-to-arrive baby — you can’t recreate that in post, you just have to be there for it.
