For December, it was actually quite lovely outside. As I’ve gotten older and crotchetier but more beautiful, I’ve come to require certain standards in things such as the weather. I don’t need it to go above 76 and below 50. But I think that’s pretty reasonable still right??? Well this day wasn’t about me, it was Ligaya and Romy’s 50th anniversary celebration, holy cannoli (as my husband would say). What an amazing milestone to get to. Their 3 adult children and 4 grandkids have a great model to look up to for their future. One of whom hired us! We wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for Jonas saying he desperately needed me… ok maybe he didn’t say all that, but I wanted to feel really needed for 5 seconds. They put on a special surprise dance for the couple and it was so fun! The interesting thing about this milestone is that they weren’t actually the longest married couple from the reception, can you believe that! Couples really do work hard to stay married and be loving. As Romy said in his toast, Marry someone you can’t live without not someone you can “live” with which I think most people try to do. There will always be ups and downs, some worse than others, but how you handle it is the key! When we did a first look after they were ready, we had Ligaya come down the beautifully decorated Christmas stair case while Romeo was at the bottom turned around. As soon as I said ok look at your bride, he turned and gasped and said “Oh my god I’m in love all over again!” It was the most adorable thing. The day was led by Dani of Designs by Danilyn and went off without a hitch! She really knows how to put on an event! Check out the teasers from the day!
